We support our Communities!
Gary's Ice Cream gives 3 kinds of donations

1. Monetary Grants
2. Products
3. Gift Certificates

We try to be as generous as possible to a large number of organizations but are committed to making the maximum impact in the category of Arts & Education - an area of the community that we feel is under-funded by government organizations.

Our selection of organizations is based on the following considerations:

  • We support groups that are most effective and meet the changing needs of their recipients.

  • The size of the donation is determined by the geographic area and the number of people benefiting.

  • We value extensive volunteer support and minimum fund raising costs and avoid groups which are already tax supported or have a large amount of overhead.

  • We avoid "cause related" and religious organizations as we feel they are a matter for individual preference.

  • We donate to those who provide a service to the community rather than promoting a cause.

  • We support local charities which do not have the advantage of regional or national funding.

  • We do not get involved with "secondary giving" (donating to someone so they can donate to someone else).

  • We only consider one donation per year per organization.

Please include the following in your letter:

  • A general description of your group or program.
  • Who you are, how you represent the program and who and how many you serve and 
         the specific geographic area (we only support those groups within our market area).
  • Why you are raising money and how the money will be used.
  • Your annual budget.
  • Total amount already raised and the amount still needed to reach your goal. 
  • The specific dollar amount you are requesting from Gary's Ice Cream and 
    what recognition or sponsorship you are offering.
  • Your groups 9-digit Federal ID number (EIN).
  • A copy of your 501c3 approval letter from the IRS.

There are no general deadlines for Gary's Ice Cream donation requests.  However, we budget a specific amount per year and those who apply first stand they best chance of funds availability.
